Located
in the heart of Myopia Hunt country in South Hamilton, MA, Hamilton
Farm has been standing high quality, performance warmblood stallions
at stud for over 20 years. Owned
and operated by partners Mary Lou Cabot and Meg Douglas-Hamilton,
Hamilton Farm is a pioneer in the equine breeding industry.
In 1983,
Hamilton Farm made history as the first stud farm to ship live,
cooled stallion semen on a commercial basis. Using the Equitainer
system (a cooling, storage and shipping container developed
and patented by Meg's physicist husband, Diarmaid) the farm
shipped fresh semen to 50 mares across the United States. The
results were phenomenal, with a 90% conception rate! From that
moment on, the equine breeding industry was changed forever.
Over the
years, Hamilton Farm has offered full service care, breeding
management and promotion of numerous stallions, including stallions
such as Noren, Aktuell, Empire, Narrator, Baryshnikov, Idol
and Karneval. When the legendary French champion Galoubet
was retired to stud, Hamilton Farm was chosen as his new home.
Hamilton Farm managed the Galoubet syndicate offerings and to
this day, provides unparalleled care and management of this
great sire.
